What does it really take to build a strong life?

Some would say that the process of building a strong life is more difficult now than ever before. And while I agree that life today isn’t easy, the raw ingredients needed to build a strong life remain virtually unchanged – year to year, generation to generation.

To build a strong life one has to have a strength, and to build a strength, one needs to possess three primary components – talent, knowledge, and skill.

Talent – our natural way of thinking, feeling, and behaving. It’s who we are when no one is looking.

Knowledge – our mental capacity to understand and remember something.

Skill – our physical ability to do something.

Blending our natural ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving with the appropriate knowledge of how something works, coupled to the physical ability to something well and you’ll quickly find yourself on the path to building a strength – which is best defined as the capacity to provide near perfect performance in an activity.

Continue to build and utilize your strengths, and you’ll find yourself well on the way to building a strong life.
